Google toslink fiber optic and you will find suitable DIY cables. I got a couple for $1 each at a local surplus outlet, but then needed about 20 minutes of grinding with my dremel to shape the ends to fit my housing and strobe. They appear to work just as well as the factory cables. They are not coiled so they have some annoying slack. But for $158 I can learn to live with it.

Not for a $42 item. Free shipping applies over $200.
