I have a U.S. diver conshelf se2 regulator, and a Sea-Quest Balance BCD.
I would like to fit a Sea-Quest Air Source Power Inflator to the jacket.
Can anyone tell me the set up procedure for fitting the Power Inflator to the
Regulator?

Is it not true that the Air Source has to be setup to suite the host regulator?

Please read reply to a question regarding fitting the Air Source.

Hi there
It can be fitted by anyone .it is a simple unscrew and refit new part, the hardest part is setting up, and that will need to be done by a dealer

The AirSource uses your LP inflator hose and attaches to the first stage regulator just like any LP hose. I'm not sure what he means by "setting it up." Hop in a pool with it . The only thing that might need to be done is lower the intermediate pressure so that you don't freeflow.

The most important thing is that the Low pressure inflator from your BC must be wide enough for the Air Source.
Check with the dealer for the apporpriate fit.

The proper plan would be to adjust the Airsource to work with the intermediate pressure of the regulator. The IP should be set optimally for the primary reg, and the AS adusted after that.
The SE2 IP should be 140 +/- 5 psi. The Airsource requires IP of 135-147 but will work with lower and higher, IME.

Well, you need the LP hose that comes with the airsource. Its a not standard hose, and a standard BC hose wont work with an airsource. Other than that, the airsource has its own corrugated hose that attaches the airsource itself to the bcd elbow. Is this what you are missing? Its a rubber two piece section with a hard plastic middle to connect the two that goes to an elbow with a rapid exhaust at the elbow(part which connects to the bcd).

bottom line, it might be easier to go into your LDS that services seaquest BCD's and just make sure you got everything you need.

This is starting to sound like a mickey mouse setup, and that makes me scared...

No Mickey Mouse. I intend to buy the entire unit; I was only asking what installation and setup would be required.

Let me guess. You're buying this online to save money and have no idea how to install it, yes?

If this is the case, spend the extra cash and go to your LDS and have them put it on for you. It's a life support piece of equipment.

Or, better yet. Put your backup reg (octo) on a bungee necklace around your neck! It costs less, works better, and you can do it yourself on the cheap.

if you havent bout it already you can by it complete with the corugated hose, dump valve and screwed connection for attaching to the bc jacket, an dof course the lp hose.

so easies way is to buy this assembly, unscrew the standard inflator at the jacket and fir this, then of course attach the lp hose on to a lp connection on yuor 1st stage reg.

there should not be any other setting up.

As for detroit divers commment that a backup reg on a necklace works better, where do you get this? the is nothing wrong with the sea quest air source inflator, this is just another example of the dir guys saying these things suck, they do not. I keep seeing comments about how these inflator regs are unreliable but i am yet to see an actual case of one failing or being unreliable!!!!
