Do the balls/Orings on Ball Joint/Clamp type strobe arms require any maintenance/lubrication?

I would imagine silicon grease would pick up sand/grit, etc but wonder if anyone uses some form of 'dry' lubricant (teflon/graphite?) or
do you just fresh water rinse?

Just a freshwater rinse. Also, while still they're in good shape, pop one or two out and take it to a hardware store in order to pick up a dozen or so spares for about $1.
