I personally wouldn't. As a piston regulator it is either not possible, or incredibly annoying to seal against water intrusion. I would try to find a sealed diaphragm regulator if you are regularly diving in the 30s/40s.

Second stage should be fine since it is a metal barrel, but maybe not quite as good as some of the others that have more heat sinks outside of the case
 
can get it sealed with lube if you get the cold water boot (like you do with atomic regs). kinda messy though. not sure if the cold water boot is still available from xs scuba since i believe they discontinued the reg.
