hi guys and dolls

my dad recently got and sd 790 is elph as a gift.
i asked him if i could borrow it and he agreed. i plan on getting the canon housing for it.
at present i use an intova ic-800 8megapix with the intova is2000 strobe. i like my setup at present and i do get decent pictures with the intova.
my questions are:
1. how well does the sd790is perform underwater. ive seen many topside photos ofrom it and they look amazing.
2. would it be a significant step above my intova

in terms of quality, shaprness, etc?
3. does it have manual exposure, iso control, white balance, etc? ive only played with it awhile and it seems like i cant even set iso manually.
4. will the intova ss2000 strobe baracket:
