SD4000.. S90 lite with 720p video

It also has a 2.0 lens. Since it has a "backlighted" sensor, the smaller sensor area in this camera could end up having similar noise to the one in the S90/G11. This could end up being what my wife gets next -- I've been wanting HD "in the family."
 
The new sensor is intriguing but for the rest of it save for the lens it sounds like they left off everything that makes the S90 wonderful. N

It has Tv and Av modes, custom WB, but no RAW, no full Manual. So close, but...

Maybe there will be a follow on that adds those features. The low light and HD capabilities are very appealing.

CHDK please? Or perhaps they will use this sensor in a future G series model.

I would take the 1/1.7" sensor of the S90/G11 over the smaller 1/2.3" backlit sensor any day.

Specs on the SD4000 look good for a snapshooter. The one feature I would like to see is flash exposure compensation. I like to shoot AE with its own exposure compensation. I also like to have complete control over flash output. The S90 does that, but not the SD4000.
