hey Larry, this is for you:
i have made a purchase from scubatoys few weeks ago, and soon i am going to get a computer there.
As i was browsing thru this forum, i found a few posts by Larry saying something about "....sb discount". I am wondering if this policy still applies and how it works?

cheers
jimmy

You just have to ask for it. I believe it is a standard 10%.

Do tell them your SB ID when you order your goods.

Go to their site and find the email address for Larry. Tell him you are from SB and ask him the price for whatever you want. You will get a discount from the listed prices on the web site.

The discount varies on the product it seems to me. Anyway, this is how I've always handled it.

Yea, we can always give you an additional 10% if you call in your order and let us know you are a SB member. If getting a bunch of stuff... and depending what it is... sometimes we can do even more - just depends on the items.

Awesome, I'll have to try that out.

Larry,
I'm curious what sort of stock you have in your Dallas store? I go to Dallas on occassion and next time I'd like to stop by and perhaps buy a couple things (steel tank and new computer are high on the list). Do you stock everything you sell online at your store or is it in a separate warehouse?

Thanks

That wasn't true in my case when I emailed you last summer about buying a tank and asked about SB discount. You said you had too little margin in tanks, and ended up throwing in a tank boot instead, which was reasonable and made me happy. I'm not complaining because you have no obligation to provide any discount at all but if there must be exclusions then just let us know of the exclusions.

A boot isn't bad, my LDS charges like $15 for a boot which is about 10% the list price of an al80 tank anyhow. My shop through in the yoke valve cover for free (woot)! I did get free air for a year because I bought it from them and so far that alone has made it worth it.

Larry hasn't replied but I have been in his shop a time or two (and have the empty bank account to prove it). They have pretty much all that's on the web site plus a lot of stuff that they are not allowed to sell over the internet. DON'T GO THERE! DANGER! DANGER! You can't afford it. I've never left for under $100. :)
