Hello All,

A question regarding dumping weights on my Scubapro Nighthawk:

I do love my Nighthawk BC. However I do have one reservation.
The weight clips are somewhat more difficult to open than other BC's
I have looked at. Under normal circumstances this is no trouble.
But, how would it be in a stressfull situation where I found it necessary
to dump my weights? I asked the Scubapro rep that came out to one of
our Eco-Dive's and she said that they designed it that way because the
danger of accidentally dumping weight was of greater concern.

Have any of you had to dump weight when diving a Nighthawk?

What is your opinion?

Are all SCUBA manufacturers reps 25yo hotties?

Thanks

Steve

I haven't dumped the weights on my Ladyhawk except in a Rescue class but didn't seem to be a problem. I like the weight system, and tend to agree I like it secure and don't want to drop weights by accident. I have a friend with a velcro type system (which have a rep for being unreliable) and she had trouble with dropping weights by accident even when brand new - that I consider a problem.

Funny you posted this today. I spent some time earlier this afternoon practicing using my Ladyhawk with my new 5 mm gloves on. The wt clips, esp for my left hand, were almost impossible to release. I actually went on line to email Scubapro about the problem and ask if there was a way to "grease" the clips to make them easier to open. Decided to check what was new here first. I'm with ya! Mine are a real PITA to open. I've decided I should probably start doing some finger strengthening exercises for when I'm wearing gloves.
