I just received a used single plate adapter and cam straps off amazon. I noticed That mine appears different than the model shown on the website and pdf for assembly. When looking online I found what looks to be the same adapter on leisurepro's website being sold as Scubapro . Instead of having 90 degree angles it is more open and has 4 strap cutouts on each side. It also had a single squared, and one elongated bolt hole.

Is is this a different or older variation, and if so is there a product guide to ensure I am installing it properly? I want to make sure it is an authentic Scubapro STA and not a knockoff. I am a new diver trying to afford quality initial gear while I save up for proper reg set like the 600/700 series. Thank you.

You do know that an STA is nothing more than an angled channel to hold the tank? Brand is irrelevant. Anyone with access to a press brake and a way to cut the slots could make one quite easily. As long as it's stainless and not carbon steel that will rust. Best thing is to buy the cheapest one you can find. They all do the same thing.

Thanks Jim, I mostly bought this set for the straps that came with it, and it was the right price overall. But I really have a hatred for people hocking knockoffs and just wanted to verify it is what the seller stated.
