Hi,

Can anyone tell me what the difference between this reg and the MK25 or the MK25SA is? Also what is the difference between the s600 and the s600 classic?

Cheers

Alex

The MK25 and MK25AF are the same—it looks like the MK25 is sold under the MK25AF name in Europe. The MK25SA is a “light weight” stainless steel first stage that replaced the old, black coloured (MK20/25UL etc.) Scubapro range of lightweight first stages.

The S600 Classic replaces the S600’s plastic front cover, outer ring and adjustment knob with chrome plated brass—sort of a retro “Balanced Adjustable” look. Scubapro claims superior performance in very cold water for the S600 Classic

The classic was just their 40th anniversary reg like a black pearl. So, they put more chrome on it. It is also sold in Asian market. But, the sad thing is that nobody cares their 40th anniversary in the market....LOL~~~

I post the pictuere somwhere a long time ago.....

Has details about all the regs. This is cut and pasted right from the site:

MK25SA

This is the lightest weight first stage in our range of regulators and is the ideal first stage for traveling. The body and other components are made from a new lightweight marine-grade aluminum alloy. The parts most often exposed to excess shock and strain are manufactured from solid stainless steel for optimal integrity.
Body machined and yoke forged from a special aluminum alloy for minimum weight
Yoke screw, yoke retainer, swivel and seat adjustment parts are all made of solid stainless steel to increase overall resistance
Special adapter located on one HP port, needed to attach the SPG, is made of stainless steel, eliminating potential corrosion problem

MK25

Unfailing performance due to patented design
Machined marine grade chrome plated brass body
Patented over balanced composite/stainless steel piston
Thermal Insulating System (TIS) on piston and spring
Externally adjustable intermediate pressure
5 high flow low pressure swivel ports
Dual high pressure ports
Available in yoke or DIN (not shown) system
New wound conical single stainless steel wire filter
Enlarged water balancing chamber holes

I have the MK25AF/S600 and I know that the AF stands for Anti-freeze. It is exactly the same as the SA. The reg just says MK25 but the warranty card says AF. It's confusing sometimes, that's why this piece of equipment was bought at LDS instead of online :)
