I am interested in diving nitrox and air using the same MK25/600s scubapro reg , is it reccommended to use this reg in this manner after installing the scubapro nitrox upgrade kit to the first stage ? I have been told that once used for nitrox the reg should be dedicated as a nitrox only reg,is this true?

Hi Gary

According to the 2002 Scubapro catalog, all SP regs. are Nitrox ready up to a 40% mixture, up to 3300 PSI right out of the box.
I wouldn't bother with an upgrade kit unless you plan to exceed these limits. Your local SP dealer is also a wealth of information.

I use mine (MK20/S600) for both air and nitrox.:boom:

Hi Gary,
I use a lot of nitrox and too have used my SC MK 25& S600 for nitrox with out converting them with no problem I also have two Mk 20's with various second stages which have been converted. it is true that once something is O2cleaned that it should be dedicated to that, but once converted you still can use 21% O2 just that it should be hyper filtered to keep out the contaminates.
Which isn't as big a problem as it seems, just Go to your LDS that mixes nitrox By partial blending and have him fill your tanks off of his hyper banks. I blend my own and all my my tanks are filled with modified J OCA air (Hyper air) At least that's what the tests say I'm running trough my compressor:)

O2 clean your reg and get the upgrade kit IF you plan to use beyond 40%. The kit offers the better HP seat and Viton orings. Otherwise don't bother as long as your LDS is using Christolube and the proper orings.

And why make your MK25 for higher 0%'s anyway? Do you need a lot of performance on a hang bottle?
