Rounding out my gear this week and had the LDS price these 2 out and they are both basically the same price. I was told they are both mid range high quality that will suit me well.

I will be diving in NJ in temps between 55 and 75. Depths between 50 and 120 ft.

Service is available readily for both at my LDS so that is a non issue.

Which is considered "better" and easier breathing?

thanks!

I'm extremely partial to Zeagles. I dive an older 50D and love it. The first stage is environmentally sealed so it won't freeze up in cold water and the second stage breathes so easy I almost forget it's there. AND, Zeagle has the best warranty support in the business. The Mk 11 has some plastic pieces inside it that I don't particularly care for. The guts of first stages should be all-metal.

I've rebuilt several Mk-11s and their TUSA equivalents (R-400s if memory serves) and many, many Zeagles. Give me Zeagle any day!

Both great regs.
They may be mid priced in their respective ranges, but they are both very high performers.
The Zeagle is environmentally sealed and the 2nd stage also has the cracking effort knob.
The Scubapro isn't and hasn't.
2nd vote for Zeagle.

And a 3rd vote.

In addition to what tfsails and Fishpie mentioned, Zeagle has the confidence in their product and business foresight to allow regulator parts to be sold directly to the customer.... try that with Scubapro and Aqualung....

Best wishes.
