iam a new diver got certifide this past April and not alot of money to spend so any thing free is for me.(right)
my nephew gave me his old jet fins and the day i got them my bulldog ate the straps.
my question is is their a specific or a non specific brand of stainless steel straps that i can put on this jet fins? thank you in advance.

Yes they are a specific style that is different from some of the others, such as Atomic and Tusa. You can see one brand on leisure pro :

And another example on Laughing Blennie

The kind you do not want are illustrated here- they are for the "barrel" type mount.

Hope that helps.

for a temporary fix you can also use a 1/2" bungee from the hardware store - just thread it through the metal buckle - I've got a couple pair of Jets with bungees for straps and they work well. SS spring straps are even nicer, but the bungees work till you get the new ones in the mail ;)

Aloha, Tim

Agua...I want to hear more about your bulldog eating your straps:rofl3: :rofl3: :rofl3:

By the way...What is his name...God bless our pets:)

My dad refuses to use anything but bicycle intertubes for straps on him rockets. They are FREE and have alot more stretch in them then the original factory straps.

Try that, even if you dont have a old intertube laying around, you can buy one at Wal-Mart for About $3 and cut it up

Heck, go to a bike shop and ask for an old innertube. They are more than eager to give them away, and in various widths!

Thank you very much for the replys the tire inner tube is a good idea. i do have an old inner tube from my kids bike, wich also where eaten by Odie my Bulldog. (the tire parts not the whole bike)..:)

Lucky for you I opened this post, perhaps.

1.) I bought Scuba Pro Jets earlier this year
2.) I replaced the supplied straps with Halcyon springs
3.) I live in NJ as well

If you are at all interested in the un-used Scuba Pro "original equipment" straps you are welcome to them.

Shoot me a PM and let me know where you're at in NJ. We can either meet to get them to you or I can pop them in the mail.
