  • I just purchased a Scubapro HYDROS Pro BC and, separately, a 5th Gen. Air2.
  • I need to remove the pre-installed inflator and install the Air2 on the HYRDOS Pro.
  • I have not done this before and expect its probably quite simple. But, I was hoping to find a good resource online with instructions or video.
  • If anyone here has a recommendation, that'd be great! Thanks!

Unscrew the clamp or clip the zip ties on the corrugated hose at the inflator end. If there's a pull dump there will be a stainless steel cable inside looped around a stainless steel rod around the end of the inflator. Pull back the corrugated hose to see this. With a pen or other small object, push the steel rod through enough to get the cable off and then do the same for the Air2 by pushing the rod in, looping the cable over the rod and pushing the rod back in place. Put the corrugated hose back over the end of the inflator and zip tie. Done. Orally inflate your BC with air and leave it over night. If it's still full in the morning you did it right.

Scuba pro used to apply some rubber cement between the plastic inflator and the corrugated hose. Not really necessary but done make a reliable seal. May make disassembly a little!e difficult. Just cleN the residue off the corrugated hose. If it does leak, try adding a zip tie.

CuzzA: Appreciate the advice. I'll give it a try. Thank you! KD

It really is very simple and I think it's a good idea for people to get familiar with how their gear is put together and functions.

If it were simple, why then you are coming here for advice and can't figure it out on your own? If you don't know what you are doing, go to your local expert, LDS, and let them help you. You go to them and have them supervise you while you do it instead of having non-experts guide you remotely without seeing and knowing exactly what you are doing.

Just cut the hose with a pair of shears and duct tape the new one on.
