Scubapro Classic BCD w/Air2 identification

Can someone tell me how to identify the age/date of manufacture of this Scubapro Classic XS BCD w/Air2?
In the left front pocket the Scubapro tag lists the P/N as 01-002-240. Sounds more like a part part number than a serial number. Is the SN hidden somewhere else?

Late 90’s is my guess... just don’t know where the serial number is hiding. Care to guess on a resale value? It’s only been used on 2 dive trips and was stored properly.

Have a look at the AIR 2. Does the diaphragm cover have a retaining pin? If not, then the AIR 2 is a 3rd generation.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Based on that description, mine has to be a 3rd generation because it has pink buttons and has Air2 molded into it.

Agree mid to late 90s. Looks like my first be except mine wasn’t pink they’re not a bad bc for ow diving. Very basic and simple. I wouldn’t pay a ton for it.

If using a weight belt it is my favorite BCD of all time , the wrap around bladder is a treat

They are great BC's. Very Robust, a lot of lift, hardware is very tough, streamlined, simple and if you add a crotch strap, super stable.

Primary negative is that it needs to fit and without adjustable shoulder straps, the sizing can be a problem. With most BCs, if you switch from a thin to a thick suit, there is more than enough play to accommodate. With this BC, it MIGHT be an issue, in general you want it to fit somewhat snug.

The air 2 is easily serviceable.

That Air2 is actually better than the later generations for easy overhaul. Once they switched to the flexible purge button cover, things have gotten less straightforward since the rubber get old and cracked.

The replacement part is as expensive as an off-brand Air2 knockoff.
