Is the bella a jacket or hybrid. My wife tried this on the other day and really liked the fit. We were told by the owner that it was a hybrid, but everything I've read says jacket.

The seems to be just a regular jacket BCD to me - just taylored to the female form more than most jackets. Certainly not a back inflate or BP/W. The ScubaPro website doesn't doesn't claim that it's anything more than a female oriented jacket. Not sure where the hybrid term came from or what it was referring to.
Does it really matter? If she likes it, dive it. If not, find something else. I definitely wouldn't be buying it expecting it to do anything particularly special.
