Join us at Playa Kalki in Westpoint on Aug 18th. From the Marriott and Willamstad it takes something like 45 minutes to get there. Several of us plan to do some shore dives at Alice in Wonderland in the morning, and join a 1-tank-trip in the afternoon to Watamula, which is only a 5 minute boat ride away. Alice in Wonderland and Watamula are two of the very best dive sites on Curacao. While you are diving, any non-divers in your family can enjoy the beach. There is also a beach bar for snacks and drinks.
After the boat dive in the PM, we can all go back to Sol Food for Pizza.
Sunshines restaurant, Sol Food, is not usually open on Tuesdays, but she will be joining us for the boat dive and has graciously offered to open that evening just for us.
Let us know here if you will be joining us and please send an email to info@oceanencounterswest.com for the boat dive. The boat will leave towards Watamula at 2 p.m. The regular price would be 54 US$ + 5% tax per person incl. tank and weights. They may offer some kind of special deal as long as we get some more participants.

Once we know all who are coming, we can get out details about a meeting place and time.

Thanks!

Count me in for both the Alice in Wonderland dive and the Watamula trip!

Sounds good Ray.
There were a few others who have expressed interest, but no commitment yet, so here is a tentative plan. Let me know if it sounds rational.
To get two AM dives in before lunch, I'm thinking 9 at the latest to meet at Ocean Encounters West, by their beach & pier. 1/2 hr to get ready, 1 hr dive. 1 hr SIT, 1 hr dive, plus 1/2 hr for whatever comes up (it always does) gets us to 1 PM. That gives us plenty of time for lunch before getting on the boat at 2.
So far it looks like Ray (RJP), Sunshine & David (Sol Food) and Andreas (DM at OEW), my wife Jessica & myself will be part of this.
If there are others interested please let us know. We would love to have you join us.

see you all soon!!

Any Curacao SB'ers need anything from the US?

Traveling to Curacao this Saturday for a week and through the wonders of Platinum Elite status on Continental my wife, two kids, and I can bring a total of TWELVE 75lb bags with us!

Now, I'm not offering to bring down a sink or a hot water heater or anything...:D

...but if there are any SB'ers living on Curacao that need something from the US that you just can't get down there I'd be happy to try to track down and tote some stuff for you. I've brought Mallomars to Micronesia, batteries to Bonaire, Thomas's English Muffins to Egypt, and NY bagels to Hawaii for SB'ers. Also have a great LDS a mile from my house with pretty good prices, so if you need any hard-to-obtain-there gear I can help you out there as well: www.DIVESeekers.com is their on-line store, and/or visit their main website at www.TSCscuba.com for a complete list of manufacturers they have - not everything in the shop is sold on-line (eg: Scubapro)

PM or email me if there's anything you need! rpurkis AT yahoo.com

OK, OK, How about just one plain Finagle a Bagel and 2 ears of local corn. The other 150 pounds would have taken a week to be shipped to you.

If I wasn't sure that the corn would be confiscated on the way in to Curacao I would bring some. The "Jersey Sweet White" corn is in season right now and is out of this world this year!
