Whats with this, I went by the Olympium pool tonight to drop off some of my old gear and what do I see members of the club getting first grabs at anything worth buying. Thats Bull &^*&^&. And they ask us to wait in a line up for two hours and pay $2 door fee for scraps. I didn't bother I'm using Ebay.

Integrity, like viginaty. Can't regain either once you've lost it. It might be human nature to take the best early, but once you've been caught your reputation's shot!

I used to be a member of OUE (found it too far to drive to get value from my membership) and it's always been that way at the swap. It's one of the perks for volunteering to work the swap. As far as it being correct or not. They pay the full price the seller is asking and most of these folks have full kits plus, so they really don't buy a lot Friday night. And it's only the gear in the private sellers section, the dealers don't arrive till Saturday am.
And I'm leaving for the Olympium in 10 minutes. There'll still be lots of deals.

A 3mm shorty and a 3mm full suit for our 13 year old, along with the 7mm full suit he already has, he's now got a good assortment to accomodate changing temps. (the shorty will fit over the 7mm). Picked up a used console for the SPG and the compass (the depth guage was missing, but I have an extra around anyway, anyone need an empty console?). A mesh weight belt (can hold hard or soft weights) and a pair of neoprene boot for our 16 year old (gotta love growing kids, hope his feet are near stopping). Almost bought an OMS LP125, but just a few dollars too much for me. And a pair of XL jetfins for $10. Straps are gone, but I plan on using spring straps anyway.

All in all there was the usual assortment of gear (a lot of AL80's this year), a few real good bargains, a few overpriced (imho) items, most was quite fairly priced. A careful shopper could probably have put together a full kit of decent gear (mask, fins, snorkel, wetsuit, regs and gauges, BCD, weights) for under 1K

And as usual, bumped into some buddies that I haven't seen for a while.

So what gear did every one pick up. Miserable weather to boot.

I picked up a dry suit for my wife. It fit like it was made for her. Now she will make me take her diving more ;)

Hey, congrats. My wife tried a DS last year. Did about 6 dives and declared she could not stand the neck seal and would NOT ever put it on again. At least she gave it a good try.
