Hello,

I'm a little person who would like to try out diving! Diving suits for children won't fit, for adults will be too long. Any suggestions? I'm 136cm // 4'6

Having a custom made suit is probably a bit expensive if you only want to try out diving. Is it every part of a regular wetsuit that would be too long, or mostly the limbs? You can maybe try out a shortie wetsuit (short arms and legs) for some pool dives and then decide if you want to spend the money for a custom made full wetsuit.

Where can you get a shortie wetsuit?

Any decent dive shop should have some that you can also try out to see if they fit.

You could consider taking a holiday where the water is warm enough not to require thermal protection. Most areas that cater to divers and tropical resorts offer "Discover Scuba", which includes very basic training and closely guide dives.

In the event you choose to commit to Scuba, you can invest in a custom wet or drysuit. Many of us do pay the extra money for an optimum fit.

A lot depends on your weight. In general, it is more important to match the weight guidelines than height. For example, if you select a suit that matches your weight, it is often possible to roll up the sleeves and ankles, particularly on a thin suit, where tight fitting is not so critical.

Sometimes it might make sense to cut off several inches from the sleeves or ankles, if the remainder of the suit fits well. A little neoprene glue over the sewn seams that are cut, will usually avoid problems.

We offer small suits, that might work.

If you can find a wetsuit that that fits in chest/waist/torso length, there are some really good custom wetsuit makers that can cut off and refinish arm and leg lengths. Terrapin Wetsuits is an excellent source.
