The Pixies from the CD "Surfer Rosa"...

Where Is My Mind ?

"With your feet in the air
and your head by the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse,
and there's nothing in it
and you'll ask yourself:

Where is my mind?
Where is my mind?
Where is my mind?

Way out,
in the water see it swimmin'

I was swimmin' in the Caribean
Animals were hiding behind a rock
Except the little fish,
when they told me east is west
trying to talk to me to me
koy-koy"

What about your songs ???

Ever thought of the Boss singing the line :"Baby I was born to dive..." ??? :-)

Ciao Erik Il Rosso

The Pixies are a great band. Reuniting this year apparently. I'd prefer if they didn't. Leave a great thing great. Dont' water it down.

Bluefish:
Barefoot Man has a whole cd of scuba songs.

And I have 3 of his CDs too...

From the classic rock department, Stills-Young Band's "Black Coral"

Have you ever been down deep?
I mean 'way down under the ocean
Just inside Odin's reach
Better beware of this potion
And remember you don't belong
It's always seemed so unfair
The fishes around will always remind you
Got to go slow, take it easy down there
You've only so much air
When you get a little deeper, if you slow down you might keep her
The sea, unforgiving and she's hard
But she'll make love to you, show you glimpses of the stars
At about two hundred feet
You realize the peril
But seductive is the deep
That shark over there holds no terror
For a while you really belong
The ocean will always share
You become one, like friends and lovers
But remember take care
She'll try to keep you there
The deeper you go 'cause of the pressure of the air
The nitrogen comes and goes (gets you high)
It's an alien atmosphere
They call it rapture of the deep
Be you not afraid
You're too far down now to be scared
Two hundred and eighty-seven feet
I saw Jesus and it made sense he was there
So belong but don't be long
There's plenty of ocean to share
Please take heed there's mouths to feed
The ocean, she'll provide
Don't take more than you need
'Cause heaven just might be the sea.

It has been a while... but I got the inspiration for this at Forty Fathom Grotto today...

"I want my DPV"
(With apologies to DIre Straits and all who love "Money for Nothing")

I want my
I want my
I want my DPV

Look at those divers
Thats the way you do it,
Lemme tell they ain't so dumb!
Scootin' around all under water,
Acceleratin' with a push of their thumb!

They got to get those corroded old portholes,
They got to get those pul-ul-ul-uleeeeeeeeeeeees!
They got to find them, all the gold now,
We got to find all the little gooooooodiesssssssssssssssss!
(who-wa, who-wa)

Look at those divers
They ain't even kickin,
You have to admit that
they're really smart!
Glidin' around on their little scooters,
Lookin' for treasure and doin' their part!

They got to get those corroded old portholes,
They got to get those pul-ul-ul-uleeeeeeeeeeeees!
They got to find them, all the gold now,
We got to find all the little gooooooodiesssssssssssssssss!
(who-wa, who-wa)

Eric Stone has a couple CDs too... you can find them on iTunes... about 10 bucks each.

Skip the One Legged Shark Diver cracks me up....

"When he gets to the dive site, he's the first to go down
Just him and those hungry sharks swimming around...

Captain said, 'Hold on here!', with a lump in his throat,
Poor Divemaster Skip left the food on the boat"

The DIR Song (sung to John Lennon's, "Imagine"):

Imagine no short hoses,
It isn’t hard to do,
Short second bungeed regs.,
Primary goes to you,
Imagine all the divers,
Rigged up just like King George…

Imagine only frog kicks,
No silting up the site,
No console gauges for you,
An H.I.D. can light,
Imagine all the divers,
Diving as perfect teams…

You may say I drank Kool Aid,
But I’m not the only one,
We hope someday you will join us,
And buy just Halcyon.
