SCUBA REGULATORS
FUNDAMENTALS & MAINTENANCE COURSE
The Rockport Dive Centre Ltd is running a two-day course by Technical Diving Systems
on the fundamentals and maintenance of SCUBA REGULATORS.
on Saturday the 1st of April 2006 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
and Sunday the 2nd of April 2006 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
at the Rockport Recreational Hall in Rockport, Ontario.
The course covers the scientific principles of how a SCUBA regulator works
and provides hands-on training in the inspection, disassembly, cleaning, lubricating,
re-assembly, testing, and calibrating of both diaphragm and piston first stages and
conventional downstream valve second stages. The course will also demonstrate
the operating principles of some of the new pilot actuated second stages.
The cost of the course is $ 200.00 + g.s.t. (Canadian dollars + 7% tax).
All materials are provided and participants are not required to bring anything.
However, participants are encouraged to bring their own regulators
so that they can review them with the course instructor.
Please note that this course does not qualify to service any make or model
of SCUBA regulator. Only the manufacturers themselves can qualify people
to service their specific SCUBA regulators. However, the maintenance practices
learned in this course will significantly enhance the safety of any diver using these
maintenance practices. This course is especially recommended to those who
are doing any type of involving decompression or an overhead environment
where reliable operation of ones SCUBA is absolutely essential.
The course can only take 12 participants so it will be first come first serve.
