This past Chirstmas I was down in Roatan diving and on Christmas morning we went out to a dive site that was mostly sand and did some underwater Karate and frisbee. We were all laughing so hard that most of us went through a complete tank of air. Last year they brought a plastic table, some plastic palm trees, and a hammock underwater for a underwater beach party. Has anyone else done anything weird on a holiday dive?:06: If you have let me hear your story.

December 31, 2002, Island 8, Similan Islands, Thailand—we were so bored on the liveaboard so we went on a long night dive just so we could count down and welcome 2003 under water. I guess it was more pointless than weird, but we had fun.

December 31, 2000, Mike Ball's Spoilsport, Coral Sea--we also counted down underwater and passed a bottle of champagne around. It got a little salty but not too bad.

Why do you have to be on vacation to do something different?

I'm trying to figure out how to set up a game of underwater twister. Should it be regular like left foot blue or new rules like person to you left's spare reg?

I've played underwater frisbee. I have some friends who have a great photo of them playing underwater poker posing with cigarettes and beer.

Not really weird, but different….

A few years ago, my wife and I took the Peak Performance Buoyancy course. We did the open water dives at Cayman Brac and during one of the sessions, the instructor was getting my wife to do some challenging stuff.

I decided that my help was required and went to the rescue! (Just like the Calvary in all those westerns) Well before I got to them, the instructor saw me (he’s a good friend), held up his palm to me, “STOP”, directed me to the assistant instructor – and - made me remain motionless for the rest of her session, upside down and five feet above the ocean floor. He even made me twirl around a few times. like a friggin’ ballerina – embarrassing!

As I watched upside down, I was thinking “This is the thanks I get for trying to help!” We all laugh about it now, but they laugh harder than me for some reason.
