I don't dive dry and don't claim to know much about drysuits. I see various drysuits that are for non-scuba activity. What is the difference in this type of suit versus one for scuba. The only diff. I can see is the valves.
 
I've seen surfing drysuits. A lot of them have seals on the ankles instead of dry socks/boots (then again, some scuba drysuits have ankle seals too). And of course, no valves. The difference with these is that they're intended to keep you dry at the surface (or with minimal underwater exposure), so no need for inflation.
 
Valves and a bit lighter in weight and not designed to be water tight at depth, less quality of the seam sealing etc.
