There are some cool articles on the site. You may also pick up Rodales Scuba Diving Magazine instead.....

A lot of people here have fairly negative opinions of Rodale's... any reason you mentioned it?

Ya I used to read that mag when I was new to scubadiving too. But now I find that it is mostly advertisements or has info on divig that does not pertain to the diving I am currently doing. I don't really think that it is the best source of info out there, and they have really screwed up some articles in the past.

Rodale's may stink in a lot of ways, but they do have some fine looking women.

I guess I need some work on my priorities.:mean:

Rodale's has some great articles and pictures too. The downside is that it's about the same thing every month.

The real kicker is there rating of scuba equipment. They pick like 50 top regulators of the month and so on. Man, JUST PICK the top 3 of the year and let it be...............

I like it mostly for the pics...
I picked up this one SportDiver (I think thats what it is called - you know the PADI one) and it was a "special" edition that contained like 30 AWESOME photo's! That was worth it alone.
I read some Rodales, but like mentioned here I find there are too many ads and not enough info...
Any one have other diving mags they like to read/suggest?

Hey everyone,

I just mentioned Rodales because it is a source for divers. I am finding that the best way to find out information is by reading into community boards such as this one, thats all.

I like some of the articles that are wriiten and sometimes question their accuracy however the pictures are quite nice.

Dive safe,

Rodales may know how to put together a good looking magazine but they don't know the first thing about diving, IMO. That isn't a problem, though, until they start to write about it. LOL

As a new diver, I'm still in the stage of voraciously devouring any reading material I can get my hands on.

My library of reference materials is based on my narrow experience which so far includes: Rodale's Scuba Diving, Dive Training, the Encyclopedia of Diving.

What other references are available?

BTW, anyone have a copy of Diving Physiology in Plain English? I keep reading these great reviews of it, and keep bumping into the "Book is unavailable" where-ever I've tried to order it.

Thanks.

Even though I am a PADI Instructor, I do find the Sport Diver mag to be a pretty good source of Info and good articles. I like Dive Training as well. I am not a Teckie Diver so these suit my needs quite well, plus most of my students read these so I want to be up to date when they ask various questions on the articles they have read.
