Just wanted to know what you all thought.

Is scuba diving a lifestyle or a hobby??

Both. It's a sport as well as part of my livelyhood.

I would think that the divers who make 20 dives per year or only dive while on vacation would consider it a hobby. Those of us who make multiple dives each week, then spend the rest of our time thinking about diving or visiting Scubaboard and other sites would call it a lifestyle. Then again, I tend to think of my time out of the water as just a surface interval.

The amount of money I spend on scuba kinda dictates my lifestyle.

Both!

I have to agree with MaxBottomtime, for some...many actually, it's something to do for kicks every once and a while. But for others...the folks like us who are passing up football games and trolling scubaboard.com, it's become a lifestyle. I'll be at work and in a meeting when someone will mention the word 'water' and I go off into wonderland replaying my last dive in my head!
