Hi everybody.

I'm fairly new in the sport and would really appreciate if somebody could help me translate to plain English the manufacturer marks on my two scuba cylinders.

The First one reads:

02^04+ FABER MADE IN ITALY M8303 04/0327/ 161
TC-3AAM-244/DOT - 3AA 3180 REE 65 XS SCUBA HP100WH

The second one reads:
01^03+ MADE IN ITALY M8303 03/0055/ 083
SCC/85 TC-3AAM-184/DOT-3AA 2400 FEE 70

Thanks,

Here's my best guess (thanks to a little internet searching):

Faber is the manufacturer. M8303 is the Dept. of Transportation code for Faber.

TC means it meets Canadian specs. (Transport Canada).

TC-3AAM-244/DOT-3AA are the applicable Canadian (TC) and US DOT specs. "3AA" is the steel spec., so they are steel tanks.

"Made in Italy" means it was made in Italy.

3180 on the first one, and 2400 on the second are service pressures.

02^04+ and 01^03+ are the first hydrostatic test dates. I believe the "+" after the date indicates that a 10 percent fill over-service-pressure is allowed for the 5-year period of the original hydrostatic test

I believe the 65 and 70 are the cu ft. capacity.

Not sure what the REE and FEE refer to. There's also serial numbers in there somewhere.

REE/FEE is the magic number for that tank design necessary in the calculations to get the + rating renewed by the next hydrostatic tester.
