On the cruisecritic.com board there are several threads promoting a diving cruise aboard Ruby Princess, round trip from Fort Lauderdale November 4th thru 14th, 2009. They are organizing 2-tank dives with local operators in St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Barbados, St. Lucia and Antigua, and there is also a ship's excursion offering a one-tank dive at Princess Cays. This is a group cruise being sponsored by CruiseCritic, and to participate you must book both the cruise and the dives through CruiseCritic's travel agent. The 2-tank dives will cost "about $100" and must be pre-paid by late summer. Several people have asked if they could join the dive group (limited to 16 divers per day) but make their own arrangements on booking the cruise, and the answer is no.

I had already been considering this cruise but would prefer to use my own travel agent. I figured to dive either on ship's excursions or with local operators. It occurs to me that there may be others who want to do the same, and maybe we should look to get an informal group together to see if we can arrange group dives with local operators in the various ports of call.

If anybody's interested either reply here or send me a PM.
