The top ones I always called Indian mackerel but I just got a book by Neville Coleman who I firmly beleive is The Man and he calls them Long-Jawed Mackerel. We get them in fast moving water all over Fiji in big schools and in much smaller groups everywhere else...

Look at all those open mouths! They look to me like schooling jacks (or better, jack or tuna family)--maybe Lng-jawed mackerel (Rastrelliger kanagurta) for the top one? And maybe Rainbow Runners for the bottom one (Elegatis bipinnulatus)? Or are both shots the same school from different angles?

hey! long time , no talk.

yes, both schools the same, look like Rickydazla's too.

Fun to watch, their mouths open like trap doors and the school goes up and down very fast.

thanks!
