ScubaBoard is pleased to announce phase II of our spring cleanup and server expansion. Over this weekend we will be migrating to our new hardware environment which requires us to move our entire website and database. This process can take a very long time depending on how smoothly things go. The minimum expected downtime is 2 hours with a maximum of 18 hours (yes, that long). During the outage we will be redirecting users to an informational page and one of our other forum networks to allow you to continue to chat with other users and receive updates. This hardware upgrade will allow us to scale up greatly over the next few months as we enter the summer season and reach peak traffic levels. Thank you for your understanding.

This work was delayed due to configuration issues. I am now planning to complete the modifications TONIGHT (4/2 - 4/3). Expect the board to be down for several hours and into Sunday morning possibly.

Unfortunately our planned server migration turned out to be a failure and will be moved to later this week or next weekend. While the actual data movement and migration was successful and took less than two errors, several serious and unresolved hardware issues have appeared with the new servers. As a result we are delaying the migration until these issues can be tracked down and resolved. This of course means that ScubaBoard will be taken offline for a few hours once our servers are repaired. Thank you for your understanding.

I am currently testing our servers and if all goes well, we will be moving the sites tonight. Given Saturday's experiences I imagine this upgrade may be as quick as 90 minutes so downtime will not be major. Expect to see the site go down around 12am PST.

After working with our hosting company to resolve some hardware issues we have successfully migrated to a brand new server cluster. Some functionality may be a bit different but if you encounter any problems please report them to a moderator, in site support or to support [at] scubaboard.com. Thank you for your understanding and assistance with our transition.

With that out of the way, how do things seem speed wise?
