COZUMEL, 9 November.- After staff from the dive shop called "Scuba Dive Cozumel Shope" practicing filling scuba tanks inside the hotel "Scuba Club Cozumel" surprised, even if there had with the operating license to perform such operations, and that past dates made that a person lost his life, he proceeded to suspend this place through the Department of Municipal Planning and Business Verification.
The Sunday afternoon Enforcement personnel entering the dive shop which is inside the hotel referred to was observed, since allegedly been marked by a call, where the activity is reported for which no permit has the company.
It was about three in the afternoon when prosecutors entered the building where an investigation conducted, meeting with a group of workers from the dive shop "Scuba Cozumel Dive Shope" was filling scuba tanks containing various substances to be used, so we proceeded to apply for an operating license, but defined at various justifications that lacked this.
So that after making constant reports about the danger involved in performing this action in a place that has not been evaluated to determine whether or not one could be granted such leave, proceeded to deliver an office in which he was summoned to to go on Monday or facility representatives to the Municipal Treasury Office, in order to determine the situation in which it is found.
So we proceeded to the suspension of the area where you performed at that time filling scuba tanks, standing several seals to prevent the use of the machines there have, since detected that broke or were withdrawn without permission, could be closed.
It should be mentioned that last August was in the same facility where an explosion that left one dead employee, the tank that broke his leg mangled the definition of deep shock traumatic amputation of the lower limb was recorded right, presenting mutifracmentaria exposure and multiple vascular injury, so some hotel guests thanked the staff informed them of what was happening at that time and why the area where tanks filled when the inspection was carried out was suspended.

Sounds like they didn't pay for some license they needed? Maybe Dave will share with us what licenses you need to buy to operate a filling station, since he has that new one.

I am surprised that if they were going to suspend the operation of the fill station that they did not do it right after the tank explosion.

Instead it is 3 months later!

They had other, more important things to do than worker safety.

I have been here at SCC since Saturday and I saw the inspectors when they were here on Sunday. I just happen to be talking to Henry at the time.

At this point the issue is just an inconvenience for the shop. It doesn't affect the customers. At this point they are just renting tanks (both air and Nitrox) from the same local supplier that everyone else uses.
