Hello everyone,
This is the story; I did a quick one day diving lesson in the FLA Keys this year and totally fell in love with diving. I have always been an avid water sports guy but this was the best experience I have ever had. I am trying to plan my certification either in Mass where I live or get it done in Key Largo this April. A question I would have for anyone here is, How realistic is it to pursue a career in instruction or something involving Diving? I understand the commitment it will take and I have the time to achieve the goal of several certifications that I will need. How much networking should I be doing? anyway, any info would be great. Thanks everyone.

This is just my opinion, but I would find a good dive shop in your area, talk with the instructors and get your certification where you live unless you are going to be moving to Key Largo for a good while. I personally believe that you are better served to get certified in the conditions that you plan to dive. Getting certified in tropical waters does not prepare you for the conditions you will encounter in Mass. If you have a choice of several dive shops, visit them all and talk to them. Ask people on SB who they recommend.
