I'm a Fish!
I didn't get a picture because I was spearfishing, but this guy was 8 feet across if he was an inch. I suspect he was 14 feet from tail to nose. His tail at the base was the thickness of my forearm, and his stinger looked like a railroad spike. He was sitting on the bottom at 90 feet, and his head and eyes were a foot off bottom.

This kind of thing is what keeps me coming back to diving. There's always something amazing that makes you go wow.

Cool, I saw one at least that big off Isla Mujeres, huge.

Lucky.

How does the saying go..."If you didn't get a picture, you didn't see it" :D Naw, that awesome!!

I was thinking exactly that, and I almost didn't post anything about it because who's to say it was true or not, but I knew the members of ScubaBoard would give me the benefit of the doubt:D

Besides, I didn't even tell you about the bull shark I saw that was 23 feet long and weighed around 5000 lbs;)

Southern Stingrays can get pretty large. That's a big one.

I know you saw a very large stingray, but I'm curious, why do you think it was 8 feet across and not 7 or 9? Did you have a reference of known size?

eight just sounds better :D imo hey lucky me I got post 8
