I remember a thread on some digital cameras that you could set some personal settings. Does anyone know if this is possible with the Canon A620?

Yep it is to a certain extent, ive never done it but i know it supports it (check the pdf manual).

If other brand cameras are the same as my Olympus you must leave a battery(s) in the camera at all times or it will default to the factory settings.

The canon doesnt - you can remove and change the batteries without it losing the custom settings.

I should clarify my previous statement. If you leave the batteries out for longer than 1 hour on my Olympus C4000Z's the settings return to the default ones.

The Canon has an internal rechargeable that keeps the settings in memory
