I'm a Fish!
I'm looking for some spots in the Sarasota / Bradenton area to get wet and shoot some fish. I recently got my first gun and am wanting to give it a try. I'm not asking for you secret spots but somewhere I can do a shore dive and take the gun with. Any help would be appreciated. :D

Have you already tried Spanish Rocks? It's a public beach but no lifeguards. As long as your gun isn't loaded within 100 yds of shore and you have your Saltwater License, you should be legal.

I've been there for crab season but didn't have a gun then. I plan on going back there soon now that I have a gun. I was just wondering if there were any other decent spots to do a shore dive at. It's either that or hook up with someone who has a boat and throw in gas money. Which isn't an issue for me.

I did find a 2' ledge off of alhambra last year. There were some nice hogs and a lobster on it. Unfortunatly I didnt have my gun with me. You will also need a kayak to reach it. Its to far to swim.

there's an old barge, I think its called the sugar barge, that's near the public beach, there's not much left to it and its usually not real clear there, but it's a shore snorkel/dive. 40ish years ago my dad used to ride his bicycle out there with a speargun, or so he says...
found this, think it's what I'm talking about: Regina Sugar Barge - Bradenton Beach, FL - Shipwrecks on Waymarking.com
