San Jose Del Cabo in April 2014

I am headed to San Jose Del Cabo for the first week of April and would like to do a day or two of diving during my holiday.

East Cape Explorer was recommended as a dive shop. I understand that it is a new operation and the only one in San Jose Del Cabo. Is that correct? Does anyone have information on the shop, e.g. equipment, size of the groups, etc? Should I be considering another shop?

The folks at East Cape indicated that in April they offer dive tours to the "East Cape", "Corridor" and "Gordo Banks". I have found lots of info on Gordo Banks, some information on the Corridor, and very little information on East Cape. Can anyone tell me about the latter two? I'm hoping to get some info that will help me make a decision on where to go!

I'm an AOWD with about 60 dives under my belt, all of which I have done in "warmer"-water regions (Thailand, Indonesia, Honduras, and the Red Sea).

I dove out of a shop right beside the Riu, on the beach. It wasn't really worth the jacked up price.
I was there in whale season and did not get to see one.

 

[East Cape Explorers]

Hello Mille,

I am the owner of East Cape Explorers in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. There are approximately 20 different dive sites within an hour boat ride from our dive shop. 6 of those are at the East Cape between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo Pulmo. Every here and then we find new sites since we are the only divers in this region.
