After the horrible service at Los Arbolitos last night I really needed a great day of diving. I was not disappointed!

Day 1:

The water temp was 85 degrees with 70-80 feet of vis. around San Pedro Island with a really mild current. Lots to see. The sea lions were incredibly playful and kept buzzing the divers looking for attention.

The first 2 dives were at South Point. We stuck around for a second dive because the conditions were so good.

The third dive was by the little waterfall and the sea lions were just as playful. There were turtle, moray and lobster sightings, as well as plenty of stone fish, puffers, triggrfish, and all if the other usual residents. I got my first looks at a couple of Christmas Tree Worms and a chocolate chip star fish.

The El Mar boat crew was excellent as always. The last time I dive off that boat, a diver fumbled a fin that he was handing up the ladder and the first mate hit the water before the fin did to recover it. You can't beat that kind of service and the tips reflected this.

Afterwards, drinks at the Soggy Peso and dinner at the 5 Palms. I never want to leave!

Day 2 tomorrow. I can't wait.

Day 2: water consortia were the same but with a higher air temperature. We dove 2 local sites, the crocodile and the sea mount. The crocodile was chosen for a Nav. Checkout dive because it's shallow, featureless and shallow. Vis was about 30 feet.

The Sea Mount was teeming with life as always. The fish were sPawning so there were egg clusters and schools of young to be found. Vis was about 30 feet. The only down side was that there were no nudibranches around.

I'll be back down there in 2 weeks, so I'll see how much the conditions have changed.
