I just returned from a dive trip to San Carlos, Sonora. While the humidity was pretty intense, the diving was quite good. There was no lack of sea life to enjoy both below and on the surface. During one of our boat rides to the Isla San Pedro Nolasco we spotted a whale and three manta rays. On another day, as we approached a dive site on the island, we spotted two six foot hammerhead sharks. A sea turtle was present at one of the island sites.
Reasonably warm water, decent visibility and prolific marine life made for a great experience for all divers who were on the boat.
Notably absent on this trip were the large numbers of sea lions on Isla San Pedro Nolasco. There were a few at all of the dive sites we visited and some of the divers in my group had interactions with them; however, there were fewer and they were less willing to interact with divers.
I was attempting to learn how to use a new Nikon D7100 housed camera system. Despite my efforts to muck things up, the camera and strobes managed to get some good photos.
