About one year and 3 months ago I purchased a Salvo 35W HID canister light from my LDS. I had previously owned a Salvo light and knew what I was getting myself into. The 35W was not inexpensive, but I have been very happy with the light and Salvo until...
Recently, while on a dive trip, my Salvo light failed. I would turn it on and it would just turn off on its own. What was I to do? Well... I got with the local Salvo dealer who was also hosting our dive vacation and he contacted Corey right from our dive boat by cell phone. Corey offered to send a loaner to me to complete the trip then asked me to send my light back when I returned home. WOW! That would be great! He did. The light arrived the next day, and my trip was saved. We were diving the Roy A. Jodery in upstate NY after all. I would have dived that on my SALVO backup if I had to (just kidding).
To make matters worse, when I arrived home, I sent my broken 35W and the loaner light (which worked flawlessly by the way) back to Salvo. Within a few days I received a UPS ship notification. What gives now? I called and talked to Corey. The light apparently needed a new ballast. He fixed the light and sent it back to me - no charge. Unlike some drysuit companies, you would think it would take at least 3-4 weeks for Salvo to make the repair (I am sure you all know who I am talking about - an acronym for tipping the bottle and getting behind the wheel in Idaho). Nope! Finished in one day. Salvo is fantastic!
As you may have guessed by now, and with the title of this post aside, I have nothing but good things to say about Salvo, their staff, their service, and their bulletproof lights. If you can afford to buy one of these great pieces of scuba equipment... do it. You will not be sorry for spending the money.
I just want to thank Corey and Salvo's staff for saving my trip and taking care of their customers the right way!! Keep up the good work guys.
Sorry for the title guys. Nobody wants to read a positive report.
