Has anyone ever rented a sailboat equiped for diving (compressor, tanks, etc)? My buddies and I would like to combine the two things we love to do, dive and sail, but in the caribbean, or someplace warmer than the waters of the great lakes. I cant seem to find anything that fits the description. Any help would be appreciated.

Two ideas. I have several friends that have bareboated in the V.I.s out of Tortola and then they arrange for a charter to pick them up in the morning to dive or leave scuba tanks so they can do their own thing.
Personally I have been invited with them a number of times but my wife works in a school system so we can only go on breaks or in the summer. A couple of years ago while we were diving Bonaire, I took a break at the end of the week from diving and rented a Hobbie on the beach at the Plaza. Bonaire has some really ripping winds, we had one pontoon out of the water and we were chasing the flying fish out of the water, of course this was only a couple of hours of sailing but it sure was fun.
On one other ocassion we stayed at Marco Island in Florida and rented a boat off the beach for some great sailing and still had the Keys as a not too distant area to go to get to the reef for diving.

If you don't mind taking a longer flight you can do excatly that in Palau. I have booked a trip for January, 2006. Check it out at: http://samstours.com/
