anyone familiar with these set ups? Any comments would be really helpful (on either rigs)... leaning towards the canon side as can buy the s95 new where I am, and cannot find the LX3 as it's 'old news' here in singapore. I have just lost my LX3 in indo, and really do love it as a land camera, but never tried it underwater. I've found a used 10bar housing for the LX, which I think is pretty sweet, but buying a used 'old' model vs new canon S95 seems a little backwards. Also, to push even further in the canon direction, I have also found stock in the Ikelite housing for the S95... but not sure about how great this set up will be as have been reading that the back dial cannot be used with Ike...?? I'm a novice when it comes to this stuff, and would appreciate info re: strobes as well. Just did a trip to Komodo, and am planning another one and really want to get some good shots of my own! :) cheers

I have the ikelite housing with the s95. The back dial isn't a problem you get used to it fast. The zoom is annoying though (dosn't return to center) so it renders it pretty much useless. Its not a great setup but its not a bad setup. Also the non standard bolt patern on the bottom of the ikelite is annoying as well.

Newer is not necessarily better, it's just more expensive. There are plenty of members here on the forum who thrive on older, pre-owned equipment. (We can generally afford to carry a spare that way)
