After so many wonderful comments on both the S90 and the S95 I decided to pick up a S95 for the deep blue. This will be my first underwater camera and I can't wait to see what it can do!

Before anyone says it, I simply can't afford a Fix or RecSea housing for it. I would love it and I know all the reasons to justify it, but it's simply not going to happen.

That being said, I've come to the conclusion that I have a couple ways to go on this, either the Canon housing with the will be released Inon AD adapter and the Inon lenses, or the Ikelite housing with the UWL-04 lens. Perhaps someone has other recommendations for a different direction?

The trade off I suppose would be threads vs. the bayonet mount and the additional cost for the Inon lenses. However how much harder is it to work with threads underwater? Also, does any one have experience for or against one or the other of these setups?

I thank you all in advance! :)

Hi there

Great choice of camera! I bought one last week and my Ikelite housing will be arriving this week. I can't wait! Just to get to grips with all those amazing settings on the new camera.

Can't comment on the Ikelite housing yet but the reason for my choice was the problems other people on this forum appear to have encountered with leaky canon housings.

Good luck with making your choice of housing! It's not an easy one and I guess it's all about what works for you in th end.

We look forward to seeing some of your photos in the not too-distant future!
