I've been shooting with a S95 in a DC38 housing for the past couple years as I havent been able to break down and spend the dough on a Recsea or FIX. This of course means when shooting manual I've been having to cycle through the hot keys to change my shutter speed.... :shakehead:

I was just reading about 'Magic Lantern' and its capabilities of being able to change key setup/layout. The only problem is that I cant seem to find a version of it for my S95 despite reading about it on different people's blogs.

Does anyone have any experience with Magic Lantern and the S95?

Or any other easy fixes for making shooting full manual easier when using the S95 in a DC38?

For me, manual has never seemed worthwhile using this combo. I do use the 95 and Canon housing and simply switch back and forth from Av, aperture priority to Tv, shutter priority as needed. I typically set the Ring function to Exposure Compensation which gives me 2 stops plus or minus to make adjustments. Most of the time I find myself using Av to get some depth of field, set to F4.0-f7.1 range, set ISO to 100 or 200 range, and dive it. I try to not use the zoom at it's extremes as there will be some distortion and I try to not change settings too often as that cuts down on the fun!!

My suggestion is to play with the ring function in those 2 modes to see what works for you. The ring function button is on top of the housing next to on/off.....
