Ok, so now I have both an S90 and S95, but only a WP-DC35 (S90) housing. The S95 actually CAN work in the WP-DC35. 4 small pads on the little plastic "posts" on the front of the housing and all of the controls seem to line up and work OK except the zoom control, but I found that the little rubber pad on the zoom lever on the housing is somewhat loosely mounted and can be easily wiggled moved on the arm so that it will operate the zoom. Of course, the camera is now mounted a little farther back in the housing so compatibility with my INON UFL-165AD may be further compromised. Probably only about 2mm different, but that may be enough to make it vignette more than the S90 (both at 35m) and also affect focus, especially around the edges. Can't test underwater except bath or hot tub at this time. I DO NOT like the switched positions of the on/off and ring function buttons - I prefer the on/off button to be the farthest reach for my finger so I do not accidentally turn the camera of when trying to adjust something. I have enough to think about underwater. Another annoyance - no written instruction book, just a quick start guide and CD with instruction book on it, so I either have to print up many pages, or play with the camera in front of the computer. But the camera does seem to be a nice evolution of the S90. More later when I actually read the instructions - ON MY COMPUTER!!!

i really want the 95 [cant afford the fix housing so going have to be the cannon] but im disapointed that inon havent made wide angle lens/adapter for it yet, so at lost of what to do...do i buy the 90 or wait and see if inon come up with the goods, why the bloody hell cant they keep the overal design the same for a couple of models so we dont have this problem :dork2:

Mantababe: In another thread there is a comment that the inon lens mount for the dc35 will fit the dc38 with a minor modification. You might check into it. http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/canon-corner/354529-wp-dc38-s95.html

yeah i had read that thread, just not sure bout making the adjustments to a new housing :dontknow: really stuck on what to do, dont think i can justify the fix housing cost  :( are lens screw on with the fix or baynet...im bit confused  ???

Since, at least with the FIX90 (FIX95 unknown, does not exist yet), it can utilize virtually ALL existing wet lenses be they bayonet or screw on effectively depending upon which port adapter kit you purchase. This is the beauty of the FIX90, it can do it all.

Since many people, including me, already had favorite lenses from prior applications obviously this is a really big deal. The only way to shoot wider than the FIX90 with the UFL165AD bayonet lens or the thread-on UWL-04 (also available in a ST bayonet mount) is to go to a dSLR and Tokina 10-17 fish eye lens and as well no other housing that I can think of allows BOTH thread-on and bayonet applications.

Actually the mod is to the aluminum Inon attachment plate so you won't be altering the housing in any way. It should be the kind of thing that can be ground out with a Dremel.

As far as the type of attachment, the Inon attachment is bayonet which is great if you plan to change lenses underwater. I switch between the UWL-100 28AD and the UCL-165AD. Like Nemrod said, many people carry the lenses over from setup to setup each time they upgrade cameras so you might give some thought to the lenses before you pick a housing. My lenses easily transferred from my previous SD800/WP-DC9 setup.

thanks guys. so is there much vignetting with them?

im really stuck, as want the s95 but no fix housing, ike does screw in lens [dont want screw in ones] cannon has no inon adapter [and talk of one being made but it wont take the 28AD/AD lens thus only the screw in ones left ...so will the option there again be screw in lens with the cannon s95 housing :depressed:] so whats a girl suppose to do, wait and see if inon come up with the goods ie baynett lens or fix produce a s95 housing or maybe just wait for the S100 as by time ive decided that poss be out

The INON adaptor will of course take INON AD and AD28 bayonet mount lenses, and, Yes, both AD and AD28 lens will mount on an AD28 adaptor. Whether or not they vignette or focus properly is another matter. For example, the INON 105AD WA lent has to be zoomed to at least 50mm to not vignette badly, while the UFL-165AD work OK at 35mm zoom, but maybe with a lot of softness around the edges.
