Hey Guys,

Is there a option on the s110 (or s100, s95) that you can use to tell easily if you are zoomed to 28mm? I have a uwl 04 on my s110/nauticam and I was trying to figure this out. I will say that the hood on the lens is what really shows so I was considering taking that off as well.

I figured this out by setting the outside control ring and it will move it to 28m for me. I move the hood around and if the larger portions are vertical they do not appear in the picture it seems.

Yes you need to activate step zoom as you worked it out. You can also save this into the custom settings menu

The UWL-04 has got issues whereby you see the hood in the picture but what you have done is not a good idea as flare will show if you move the dome petals

In theory with the hood aligned there should not be vignette at 28mm (theory in my opinion as that may be true with the S95 for which this lens was designed for)

I'll look up some pictures tonight and see which way the hood should be aligned

The long petals are top and bottom the small ones are side
The side petals tend to vignette

yep, I think i moved it a bit when I was taking the recsea adaptor off. After you step zoom to 28m should we zoom in a bit more? Thanks for all the help!

The only way is trying. You start at 24mm as the hood is still visible and adjust it until the position is correct. Then you step zoom to 28mm and do a test in water at that point you can evaluate if you need to zoom more
