ordered my inon mount base for the housing...should be here wednesday :)...inon says i can still use my 165AD's with the AD adapter (obviously, there will be vignetting at the wide setting but i zoom a bit for macro anyway). can't wait to try this set up out.

Hi there

I just got the S100 and the WP-DC 43 housing, but so far I still struggle a bit with the M(anual) mode. Since the dial is not working when the camera is inside the housing, changing the shutter speed is not possible. The manual recommends to press LEFT, RIGHT and the FUNCtion button and the same time, to get around this problem, but somehow I haven't been able to get that done. Anyone got any hints on that issue?

Thanks in advance.
Dani

haven't used mine yet so i will see if i have the same issue...will check it out tomorrow.

SwissD--This info is poorly presented in the owner's manual ("No duh!") but used to be very well presented in the "Sticky's" at the beginning of this forum. (Just ck'd though and I don't think the really handy photo diagram that Gilligan provided is still available, at least on my browser.) I think the problem you may be having is you have to HOLD in the button while using left & right toggles, you don't just press it. On my S-95 you use the S(hort cut) button, not the Function button. Lacking an S-100 I can only guess things haven't changed. Personally I find the front ring feature to be way handier to do this change. I typically don't change shutter speeds much so I use the front ring for f/stops but if need be, I just set the front ring control to adjust shutter speeds (or ISO etc.). Try the "hold it in" approach and if you still can't make it work on the rear dial, post a note. Me guessing an S-100 works like an S-95 may not be accurate. (Did I just hear a "No duh!" again?? :eyebrow:) // ww

I'd go with the Ikelite housing over the Canon housing, once you figure in the adapter cost, the price difference is minimal, and the Ike housing allows you to rotate the front control wheel. We do have a Dyron 67mm adapter for the Canon housing though. - Scott

Thanks WW your tip solved the problem. I somehow always tried to push all 3 buttoms at the same time ;)

Yeah, it sounds weirder to do than it actually is. A few times practiced above water in the housing makes it a pretty easy action uw. // ww
