S100 vs. S110

Does anyone have any opinions on the Canon S110 vs. the S100? I am curious to see what the "more knowledgable" SB members have to say.

Guts are petty much the same. S110 relies more on touchscreen which won't help you while diving. Between them I would get the S100.

I looked into this recently and chose the S100 on sale for $249 on Amazon. Along with the touch screen, they added wi-fi and took away the GPS. Neither of which really matter underwater...

The S110 is advertised as having significantly faster autofocus speed. This matters a lot. But I don't know if it is real.

I saw that too...overall it seems like little has developed since the S100. But I can see the touch screen being a cool feature while on land. I have a month or two before I need to make up my mind on a purchase...so I will keep an eye out for other reviews.

Also Backscatter has the S100 FIX housing on sale for $599. So that's something to consider as well...

$599 for that housing is a killer deal

I also made a couple of killer deals for housings at DEMA...I probably either need to #*&% or get off the pot and make a decision

I think the fix housing at $599 sounds more exciting that potential ms improvement on auto focus versus +200$ of housing difference

They complain about the S95/S100 however with a good focus light things change dramatically and in the worst case you can shoot with manual focus, which you kinda have to do anyway when shooting with diopters
