Hello,

I am looking to add an external strobe to my existing set up with a canon DC5 housing.

I was looking at the S-2000 but I read that this system needs a preflash to be used in s-TTL mode. My camera doesnt seem to have a prefalsh per say.... It uses a small Orange led right before each shot. This seems to be for auto red eye reduction but it still fires when I dont use that function (probably related to focus assist function).

If using a F/O cable set up will this little LED be enough to trigger the s-2000 when it is set to s-ttl mode?

Also can anyone explain, what the magnet is for? I read lots of posts about it but I'm still somewhat confused.

Thanks.
