Rockport: Now a better place to NOT dive.

For the record paying this Eric guy $10 to:

A/ Park in his parking lot very close to the water's edge.
B/ Have the use of his dock for diving without playing dodgeboat.
C/ Use of his restrooms guilt free when I gots ta go.
D/ Optionally having a bite to eat in his rather nice restaurant.

ain't that bad.

(BTW I don't even know this dude but $10 is less than the cost of a fill for those of us that use the proper gas mixture for the 0-100 foot range.)

Not entirely sure what the latest story is there but apparently there was some garbage still going on last weekend between him and the last remants of the flower power generation and now Eric has decided he will no longer be catering to divers and turned us away after driving up from Toronto and getting a motel room for the night before the dive.

Cost:
$50 in fills
$50 in fuel
$65 for a motel room
$85 in food and coffee

Total cost: $250 for the trip
Cost of getting a kick in the a$$ and escorted to the Rockport county line?...Priceless.

Luckily during the 4 HOUR trip back to Toronto we were able to come across the song "Signs" on a classic rock station which made the noticably dry return trip that much more poignant.

That is unfortunate. we will be diving there tomorrow and using the boat ramp (to launch a boat). I hope there will be no issues with *divers* launching a boat there to *dive* from. *gasp*

I know you are trying for sarcasm, but I will toast that statement whole-heartedly. Throughout history, for better or worse, it has been the vocal minority that has made change happen. I am not ashamed to consider myself one of the vocal 10%.

True in this particular case, though my comment was more generic. I left the previous Rockport thread alone for the most part because of that. From what I could see, you followed that thread closely and made many comments of which not a single one was to leave things be and not rock the boat. So you're ok about things until they affect you personally?

Actually I believe I spent a lot of time either making fun of the thread. expressing my relief that it may be over soon or warning people about getting what they wished for.

This doesn't gurantee a decision in favour of divers.

Perhaps all this nosing around will end up in them saying hey yah. Ban the divers due to fear of lawsuits or whatever. You kno what they say about sleeping dogs.

I like to travel and dive different areas whenever I can so I like to pay attention to things that are going on more that arms reach away from me. In spite of several trips out to Ontario I unfortunately haven't had the chance to dive any of the great lakes yet.

So what exactly am I 'accusing' you of that you disagree with?
