Just returned from Roatan October 18-25. Rained every day....dove every day!!
Stayed in the West End at the Sea Breeze Inn. Seabreeze Inn
Great place!! Large basic room with A/C and cable TV. We paid $60.00 per night for 3 divers. Ask for Kevin, he's the owner. Great guy...very helpful.
Used West End Divers. This was my 3rd trip to Roatan and they were the best dive operator yet. The customer service is the very best. Never touch your gear. They load it on the boat, set it up for you, change tanks, unload it, clean it and store it!!
All of their dives were drift dives...I love lazy diving!!! Some operators weren't going out due to the bad weather, but West End Divers took us out every day. If the weather was such that they couldn't get through the channels in the reef, they loaded us in a truck and drove us to the south side of the island where they had the boat waiting for dives at Flowers Bay. Mickey Charteris is one of the best dive masters I have found in the Caribbean. He sees everything!!! Finds the smallest creatures for great macro photography. They repaired my buddy's bc for free, gave us a disk of pictures taken during the week along with about 100 extras and a video called "Caribbean Reef Life" made by Mickey after videoing for about 3 years. Can't say enough good things about these guys!!
Some of the places we always eat are Mavis & Dixie's, The Lighthouse, The Rotissery Chicken place at the south end of the West End road, the Cannibal Cafe, Tong's Thai restaurant, and Eagle Ray's for a good burger and fries.
All of this is easy walking distance from the Sea Breeze and West End Divers.
