Beth,

I'm not a big poster on scubaboard, but check it out from time to time..... it's a small

internet-world we share....... And, it appears me and my two buddies and you and

your group are sharing the same flight over and back.....

We're staying at BIBR in the beach condos.... Our 1st trip to Roatan for us 3. We did

Coz last year and had a blast.

--I'm gathering as much info as available for our trip, maybe you could share any info

you have too......

--Have fun,

--Sherpa

Beth,

I STRONGLY advise you spread stuff out between you suitcases and ensure you put a few clothes in your hand luggage just enough for two days in case your luggage is delayed. With such a short layover in Salvador there is a danger your luggage will be delayed. Just a heads up!

Crap......... this isn't the kind of info I find comforting for a trip like this.... so, I get
to decide if they "delay" my wetsuit, fins, mask, etc, or my cloths, reg, bc, etc....

I seriously hope none of my crap gets delayed....

--thanks for that "tip" though..

any other "bits-o-wisdom you experienced roatanian divers can share----???

any word on the zip-line tours--???? any taxis horror stories? things to "make damn
sure you don't go to XXX" hints....

Thanks for the tip Will! I hope we get to meet in just 25 days. STOKED!

We are experienced travelers and have done lots of research
We were totally expecting luggage issues what with a 35 minute layover. Hopefully expecting this in advance will ease any stress at the other end. And if our luggage DOES arrive on time we're a head of the game.

We plan on bringing one carry on with cloths for 2-3 days and one carry on with books, bathroom items and our masks. We planned on renting most of our gear anyway since we are new divers and only concern would be ill fitting masks for the short term. I'm pretty sure Coconut Tree Divers will outfit us with whatever we need till our fins and such arrive and our first dives on Sunday the 10th should be fairly trival as we are doing a "refresher" dive at 9am. Hopefully by the next day our gear will have arrived.

The other thing I'm hoping is since this is a TACA>TACA flight that we don't miss our transfer....

We have also stocked up on bug wipes as I've had to deal with those sandfleas in all the Central American Countries we've visted in the past...and more then that, I guess we'll just take it as it comes.

We did however move our lodging to Posada Las Orquidea. We were advised by a friend who has been to Roatan twice this year that it would be more to our liking.

Sherpa, don't fret too much, you'll be in paradise. And bring cash....you'll be amazed how much you'll save....see you on the flight maybe.

Beth,

no worries about our luggage.... I traveled for a living for about 6 years.......

We're staying at BIBR which is on the west side......

Getting excited, we're only about 3 weeks out......

--Have a good one,

--Sherpa
